Project overview
What I Was Responsible For
Assistive Tech Hub (CWU — Care With Us) is an Australian NDIS registered provider and e-commerce store for mobility aids, assistive technology, and daily living equipment. Located in Epping, VIC, the business serves NDIS participants, seniors, and healthcare professionals across Australia with products including power wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walkers, aged care beds, shower chairs, patient lifters, and continence care.
This is a complete end-to-end project — I was not brought in just for SEO. I built the entire website from a blank canvas, designed every section, set up the WooCommerce store, integrated all functionality, then executed a full SEO strategy, and continue managing the site on an ongoing maintenance retainer. This is the type of project that demonstrates the full range of my digital skills working together.

Phase 1
WordPress Website — Built from Scratch
The project started with a blank WordPress installation. There was no existing site, no existing design, and no existing content. I was responsible for every technical and design decision from the ground up — from hosting setup and theme selection through to the final live launch.
Foundation
Hosting, domain & WordPress setup
Configured hosting environment, installed WordPress, set up SSL, configured cPanel, connected the domain, and established the core WordPress settings including permalink structure, user roles, and security hardening from day one.
Theme & framework
Elementor Pro + custom theme configuration
Selected and configured a lightweight base theme optimised for Elementor, set up global site settings (typography, colours, spacing, breakpoints), and built the site's design system — ensuring consistency across all pages.
E-Commerce
WooCommerce store — full setup
Installed and configured WooCommerce from scratch — set up 24+ product categories, uploaded and structured all products with descriptions, images, pricing, and variations, configured payment gateways, shipping zones (Australia-wide), tax settings, and order management workflows.
Functionality
Plugins, integrations & forms
Installed and configured all required plugins — contact forms (product enquiry, rental enquiry, home trial booking, OT trial enquiry), WP Rocket for caching, Yoast SEO, Google Tag Manager integration, Google Analytics 4, Facebook Pixel, and security plugins. Configured all booking forms for the multi-city in-home trial service.
Performance
Speed & Core Web Vitals from launch
Built the site with performance in mind from day one — optimised all product images before upload, configured WP Rocket caching, set up Cloudflare CDN, enabled lazy loading, and deferred non-critical JavaScript to ensure the site launched with strong Core Web Vitals scores from the start.
Launch
Testing, QA & go-live
Conducted comprehensive pre-launch testing across all devices (mobile, tablet, desktop), browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge), and screen sizes. Tested all forms, checkout flows, product filters, and navigation. Submitted sitemap to Google Search Console on launch day.
Phase 2
Custom Elementor Sections — Full Site Design
Every page and section on the site was designed and built custom using Elementor — there were no pre-built templates imported. Each section was designed from scratch to match the brand identity, support conversion goals, and perform well on mobile.
1
Hero section — NDIS registered provider badge + headline + dual CTA
Designed the homepage hero with animated entrance, "NDIS Approved Provider" badge, clear headline emphasising low-cost assistive technology, primary (Browse Products) and secondary (Contact Us) call-to-action buttons, and a promotional announcement bar for Sydney in-home trials.
2
Who We Work With — partner/client logos carousel
Built a horizontally scrolling logo carousel showcasing the types of organisations and clients the business serves — hospitals, aged care facilities, NDIS plan managers, support coordinators, and allied health professionals — to build trust immediately above the fold.
3
Shop By Category — 24-category icon grid
Designed and built a visually organised product category grid showcasing all 24 categories — Power Wheelchairs, Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Aged Care Beds, Shower Chairs, Patient Lifters, Daily Living Aids, Paediatric Wheelchairs, Bariatric Wheelchairs, Continence Care, and more — with category images and hover animations.
4
Who We Are + Mission & Values — brand story sections
Built compelling brand story sections with supporting photography, the company's mission statement, and core values — designed to build emotional connection with NDIS participants, seniors, and carers who are making important purchasing decisions about independence and daily living.
5
Happy Clients — photo testimonial gallery
Designed a testimonial section featuring real client photos (with permission) alongside written reviews — showing actual customers using their mobility products. Far more convincing than text-only testimonials for a healthcare e-commerce brand.
6
What People Say — review cards with star ratings
Built a styled review card section displaying 5-star client testimonials with names, highlighting specific products (mobility scooters, rollators, daily living aids) to provide social proof relevant to different buyer segments visiting the page.
7
Why Choose Us — 4-feature grid with icons
Designed a clean feature grid highlighting the four core value propositions: Worldwide Shipping, Best Quality, Best Offers, and Secure Payments — with Elementor icon boxes and custom styling aligned to the brand's blue and white colour palette.
8
NDIS information hub — dedicated resources page
Designed and built the /ndis/ resource page — a structured information hub covering NDIS eligibility, the NDIS ordering process, TGA certification, NDIS-approved product categories, and how to use NDIS funding to purchase mobility aids. Designed to serve both direct participants and support coordinators.
9
Multi-city in-home trial landing pages
Designed 6 dedicated city landing pages (Adelaide, Canberra, NSW, Victoria, Melbourne, Sydney) — each with city-specific hero section, booking form, service details, testimonials, and Google Maps embed. Consistent design across all cities with local content variations for SEO.
10
Product pages — custom WooCommerce layouts
Customised WooCommerce product page templates using Elementor — added NDIS eligibility badges, key feature highlight sections, product specification tables, related product carousels, and trust signals (TGA certified, NDIS registered) directly on product pages to support purchasing decisions.
11
Header, footer & global navigation
Built a sticky header with the Assistive Tech Hub logo, click-to-call phone number, mega menu navigation (Shop with all 24 category dropdowns, Hire, Wholesale, About, Resources, Contact), and a mobile hamburger menu optimised for touch navigation on smartphones and tablets.
12
Referral programme, wholesale & retailer pages
Designed additional business-to-business pages including the referral programme page, wholesale programme, and retailer finder — expanding the site's commercial reach beyond direct consumer sales into B2B channels.
Phase 3
SEO Strategy & Execution — 1,400+ Keywords Ranking
With the website built and live, I executed a full SEO strategy from day one — starting with a technical baseline and building through to keyword-targeted content, link building, and local SEO for the multi-city in-home trial service.
1
Technical SEO — Built Right from Launch
Because I built the site, I was able to implement technical SEO best practices from day one rather than fixing issues post-launch. This included clean URL structures for all WooCommerce categories and products, correct canonical tag implementation, XML sitemap configuration covering all category and product pages, robots.txt setup, schema markup integrated into the theme, and Google Search Console and GA4 set up and verified on launch day.

2
Keyword Research — Australian NDIS & Mobility Aids Market
Built a comprehensive keyword strategy for the Australian market using Ahrefs and SEMrush — covering transactional product keywords ("buy power wheelchair Australia"), NDIS-specific queries ("NDIS mobility aids", "NDIS registered assistive technology provider"), informational content ("how to use NDIS for mobility equipment"), and local service keywords ("in-home mobility trial Melbourne"). Mapped target keywords to every category page, product page, and content page across the site — giving every URL a clear organic purpose.

3
On-Page Optimisation — All 24+ Categories & Products
Wrote and optimised all title tags, meta descriptions, H1 headings, category page introductory content, and product descriptions across the entire catalogue. Every category page received unique buyer-intent content (200–300 words) targeting category-level keywords. Product pages received unique descriptions with feature-benefit content, NDIS eligibility information where applicable, and structured specification tables. Added Product schema, AggregateRating schema, FAQPage schema on key category pages, BreadcrumbList across all pages, and LocalBusiness schema on the contact and about pages.

4
Link Building — 148 Referring Domains, 4,400+ Backlinks
Executed a quality-focused link building programme targeting Australian healthcare, disability, aged care, and NDIS-relevant referring domains. Outreach covered: Australian disability and NDIS resource websites, aged care and senior living publications, mobility product review sites, support coordinator blogs and resource hubs, local business citations and directories, supplier/manufacturer link placements, and editorial links earned through the site's informational NDIS content. Reached 148 referring domains generating 4,400+ total backlinks — a strong, natural-looking link profile for a growing domain building authority in the healthcare e-commerce niche.

5
NDIS Content Hub & Blog SEO
Developed and implemented a dedicated NDIS content strategy — creating the /ndis/ resource hub, the /ndis-ordering-process/ page (step-by-step guide for participants and plan managers), and ongoing blog content targeting informational NDIS and mobility aid queries. This content serves three distinct audiences: NDIS participants researching funded equipment, support coordinators helping clients find products, and general consumers buying privately. The blog content also functions as a link magnet — attracting natural backlinks from support coordinators and healthcare websites sharing useful resources with their clients.

6
Local SEO — 6 Australian Cities
Built and optimised 6 city-specific landing pages for the in-home trial service (Adelaide, Canberra, NSW, Victoria, Melbourne, Sydney) — each with location-targeted keywords, city-specific content, booking forms, and LocalBusiness schema. Optimised the Google Business Profile with correct category (Medical Equipment Supplier + Disability Equipment Supplier), full service descriptions, 100+ photos, product listings, and a systematic review generation strategy. Built local citations across Australian business directories to strengthen local signal consistency.

"Building the site myself and then executing the SEO gave me a significant advantage — when you design the URL structure, you can make it SEO-clean from day one. When you write the product descriptions, you write them for humans and search engines simultaneously. When you maintain the site, you spot technical SEO issues as soon as they appear. This end-to-end ownership means every part of the project is aligned — the design supports the conversion goals, the content supports the rankings, and the maintenance keeps both performing. This is how digital marketing is supposed to work."
